Congratulations to Isabel Howdle, our Investment Manager in the London office, who has recently been chosen for Citywire’s 30 under 30 Wealth Management class of 2016. This is a significant achievement for Isabel, and a singing endorsement of the quality of our investment management team as she was up against over 200 applicants nationally for this recognition.
In what is its sixth year, the Top 30 Under 30 has identified young people in wealth management in the private client sector across the UK who are “really making their mark”.
Isabel started her career for Gale and Phillipson in May 2012- just four days after she finished her exams for her MSc in Investment and Risk Management, and was very keen to put her knowledge into practice.
Having started initially as an Investment Analyst, she had obtained a level 4 RDR qualification within a year and had also taken on additional responsibility for the day to day operations of the firm’s main discretionary service.
The last three years for Isabel have been very busy, with a promotion to Investment Manager with her own staff to oversee and having additionally completed her Wealth Manager qualification with the CISI. Isabel is hoping to become chartered later this year.
Speaking to Isabel about what her advice would be to people just starting out, she said, “I suppose my advice for someone just starting out would be to take advantage of whatever opportunities are available, and don’t be afraid to go and look or ask for some. As far as motivations go – I think sometimes simple ones can be the strongest. I joined a very good team where I was valued as an individual and this helped cement my determination to do a good job. Working with other qualified, motivated professionals made a huge difference to what I felt I was capable of. “
Well done Isabel!
